’May the Force Be With You’ seminar explores different dimensions of compassion in organizations. In the seminar you will hear the latest news from CoPassion research group. Professor of Work Psychology Alma Rodriguez-Sanchez from University Jaume (Spain) gives a talk on the interconnectedness of compassion and organizational resilience, i.e. the capability to respond to challenges in flexible manner. Compassion has also embodied aspects, though this subject is still relatively little studied. In this seminar you will get a chance to explore the embodied aspects of compassion and posture through easy exercises, instructed by Marja Putkisto.

Dr. Alma M. Rodríguez-Sánchez is graduated on Psychology (2003, Universitat Jaume I Castellón, Spain). She defended her PhD on Work and Organizational Psychology in 2009. Her doctoral thesis dealt with the measurement of Flow experiences at work. She is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Business Administration department at Universitat Jaume I. She has been collaborating and doing several research stays at Utrecht University (The Netherlands), Finish Institute of Occupational Health (Finland) and Helsinki University (Finland). Her research interests and publications are related to management and work and organizational psychology (flow at work, emotions in the workplace, resilience, HR practices…etc.). She is member of scientific associations such as European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) and Asociación Científica de Economía y Dirección de Empresas (ACEDE).
Marja Putkisto is well-known personal trainer and the developer of Method Putkisto which is a particular stretching technique with the target of achieving flexibility, core strength, a lifted posture and vitality. Putkisto is interested in the potential physical performance of any age and promotes ”less is more” attitude with her clients. Her approach is holistic and with her clients aims at sustainable progression towards ever continuing development.
